Romantic Registry Inspiration Just in Time for Valentine’s Day

We chatted with our national strategic partner Shannon from Shannon Gail Events and one of California's leading wedding planners, Carol Banh Keiner from The Blushing Details for an inside look....

Couples were welcomed into the store for an intimate registry experience, one-on-one assistance from our store team members, and the opportunity to see the latest seasonal trends from some of the nation’s top wedding professionals. Here, we sit down with Carol Banh Keiner, Owner of The Blushing Details, serving Pasadena, Los Angeles and Orange County, California, to discuss the inspiration behind our latest event, as well as her top registry tips for engaged couples!

How did you come up with the inspiration for your event?

Carol: I was inspired by a romantic walk after dinner with my husband in Old Town Pasadena enjoying the nightlife while gazing upon all the diversity the area has to offer such as the shops, restaurants, and historical landmarks. I was initially drawn to a Crate & Barrel window display and I had to walk in. I saw a really comfortable living space that was setup and I went ahead and seat down on their cozy couch. That environment made me feel like I was at home snuggling with my husband enjoying a warm cup of coffee. This inspired me to want to create an aesthetic that incorporated things that you can do on a “Date Night” at home.

Tell us a bit about your event happenings and vendors!

Carol: The energy and atmosphere were vibrant as couples made their way through the event sampling many of the products and services from the talented vendors showcasing the very best they had to offer. There was a lot of positive feedback from the couples and vendors based on their overall experience of the event. It was pretty clear to me that all of the couples along with vendors had such an incredible time.

What went into choosing your Top Registry Pick Products?

Carol: I wanted to put together some elements that a couple could create at home for a romantic date night, so I expressed my vision with the Crate and Barrel Team. I received a list of the top registry items for the various departments within the store. To my surprise, some items were some of my favorite things! The elements included cookware, dinnerware, wine glasses, platters, pillows, and votive candles all the way down to a coffee maker.

If you could offer couples one piece of registry advice, what would it be?

Carol: Select the items that you will need in the long run for your household not necessarily something you think you might need. Have fun mixing color and collections together when it’s come to table settings, linens, and furnishings. It always nice to change different elements and textures based on the season and your liking.
