Inside Couture to Cocktails with The Knot and Guest Designer Pnina Tornai
Today, we are beyond excited to take you inside the largest wedding and gift registry event of the year! Our 4th Annual Couture to Cocktails Event with The Knot took place on a gorgeously warm, early October evening at our SoHo store in the heart of Manhattan. New York Bridal Fashion Week was just wrapping up, and we assembled the “who’s who” of the wedding industry under one roof for an inspiration-filled evening for our couples. This year, we aspired to bring Pnina Tornai’s 2018 “Dream” Collection to life by weaving elements of this vision throughout the event. Couples created their dream registry amongst a backdrop of true luxury and romance, as well as a show stopping Bedding Installation (dreamy linens and floral clouds anyone?)
With the help of stunning imagery from Scott Clark Photo and video by Lovebrain Films via The Wedding Artists Collective, we are walking you through all of the stunning details right here on our blog!
Planned and produced by Chicago-based event planners Shannon Gail Events, this year’s Couture to Cocktails was truly bigger and better than ever, with the very best in wedding brands coming together for one evening only.
Couples entered the store to a magical, breathtaking overhead floral installation by Bourgeon with romantic, cascading blooms in rich jewel tones and textured greenery dripping overhead. Models wore the most magnificent wedding gowns straight off the runway courtesy of Pnina Tornai and Kleinfeld Bridal. Underneath was a perfectly detailed table display adorned with some of our favorite classic registry pieces for 2018. Mini Le Creuset Cocotte’s filled with more floral graced each place setting for the finishing touch to this truly “wow” moment.
Registry Tip: While you may opt to purchase your dinnerware as a set, do not be afraid to mix varying patterns between your dinner and salad plates, and even coffee mugs. Here, we’ve mixed and matched some of our favorite styles in a crisp shade of white for a timeless, yet contemporary look. We paired it with the sparkling elegance of our Grand Hotel Flatware and Pryce Silver-Rimmed Coupe for a bit of added formality to match the event.
Just a few steps in, Pinch Food Design greeted couples with “couture” cocktails and hors d’oeuvres that were just as gorgeous as they were delicious. The expert SoHo Store Team welcomed each couple with an overview of the Crate Registry App and features, and spent one-on-one time with each couple touring them through the store and drawing attention to all of the fun features of the evening.
The mood was certainly energetic and celebratory, with live music from Fortress by Elan Artists and the most stunning photo booth photos courtesy of MirMir.
And the fun did not stop there. From invitations and stationery to gowns, suits, and beauty, the event was packed with all things wedding at every turn. Paper Source was on hand with their latest invitation options and a “DIY” envelope liner station. Kleinfeld Bridal created a Ladies Lounge showcasing two jaw-dropping gown lines from Pnina Tornai as well as their exclusive line of bridal party gowns. Ladies could view these beauties in person before stopping at Beautini’s Touch-Up Bar for a little hair and makeup refresh!
We did not forget the Grooms in our crows either! The Black Tux’s Gentlemen’s Lounge boasted all things men’s fashion. Suits, tuxes, and the latest in accessory trends were coupled with none other than a Bourbon Bar for a true sip and see experience.
Most importantly, the evening was all about gorgeous product and top registry favorites. Couples were finding exciting product inspiration at every turn, and receiving dedicated assistance from Crate associates as they built their registries in the most high-energy, wedding-centric environment!
Registry Tip: Don’t forget to register for all of your bedding needs! Get that “cozy, stay-in-bed-all-day” look with layers and layers of luxe bedding, and stock your linen closet with backup sheets for guests and laundry day! We showcased our collection at this year’s event with billowing dream-like bedding and floral clouds suspended from the ceiling!
No Crate and Barrel Gift Registry Event is complete without huge giveaways, and this evening was no exception. Three lucky couples walked away with a $1,000 Crate Shopcard, $2,500 toward a Pnina gown at Kleinfeld, or a 5 night vacation from Couples Resorts!
Thank you to all of the vendors who made this evening possible! We would love to welcome you to our next Private Registry Event. Our team is ready to provide their expert knowledge, product demonstrations and endless inspiration to prepare for your wedding day! Join us for coffee, bites, prizes, and much more!
