Tips for Your Tablescape: Find the Perfect Mix of Classic and Trendy

Shannon Gail Clemonds of Shannon Gail Events chatted with Erin Jorgenson, also from Shannon Gail Events for an inside look at the inspiration and registry tips behind our recent Private Registry Plus Event in Chicago!

Crate and Barrel partnered with Erin Jorgenson of Shannon Gail Weddings and Events to host a deluxe version of our Private Registry Event in Chicago, Illinois. Couples were welcomed into the store for an intimate registry experience, one-on-one assistance from our store team members, and the opportunity to see the latest seasonal trends from the city’s top wedding professionals. And though the leaves are changing and the temps are chilly here in Chicago, wedding season still remains very much in swing! From a floral crown station to POPSICLES for guests, here’s what Erin had to say about holding onto those summer vibes just a bit longer.

What was the inspiration behind the style of your table and event?

Erin: I have been seeing this French/coastal/light blue color everywhere the past couple of weeks and I really wanted to incorporate this into our design somehow. We decided to pop this color with our napkin! Building upon that, I wanted the rest of the table to feel soft and organic.

How did you go about choosing which products to feature?

Erin: When initially deciding which products I would use for this event, I stumbled upon the Caspian Grey Reactive Dinner Plate and fell in love! I decided to go with a classic gold flatware and that pop of blue color for the napkins and the rest fell into place!

What is one registry tip you would give to a couple starting their registry with Crate?

Erin: I think a great piece of advice is to stick with the classics, because they will never go out of style. While this is true, I am going to give the opposite advice: If there is a unique item that makes your heart flutter, GO FOR IT! Classics are great but so are on trend tablescapes :).
