Wedding Photo Booths
Elegant: Make use of pastel colors and florals to create an elegant photo booth for your wedding. Hang a large, simple fabric sheet as the overall backdrop. Then drape light fabrics such as voile or chiffon to create faux curtains. Hang a variety of greenery and flowers around the frame for added texture and interest. To reduce costs, make your own large paper flowers or choose faux flowers instead of fresh ones. You can also incorporate string lights to brighten the background. Photo booth prop ideas for an elegant wedding include veils, vintage top hats and small chalkboards for guests to hold with personalized messages.
Playful: Give your wedding guests a space to be a little silly with a playful photo booth filled with fun props. Print out a mix of mustaches, glasses, hats and words to attach to little wooden dowels. Guests can hold these props up in the photo and get as creative as they want. You can even include funny phrases such as “Team Bride” and “Team Groom.” Make a backdrop from colorful hanging streamers which can either coordinate with the wedding colors or highlight bolder hues. Don’t forget to include a cheery bouquet of balloons, too.
Birthday Party Photo Booths
Kids: If you’re hosting a birthday party for your little tyke, you’ve likely chosen a theme for the overall event. Try incorporating that theme as the inspiration for your photo booth. Props can be coordinated dress-up clothes, such as superhero capes and goggles, princess tiaras and magic wands, animal masks and fuzzy costumes, or sports equipment. If you want the photo booth to be a neutral theme, try a backdrop with bold polka dots, lots of streamers or maybe even a balloon wall. Include a large “Happy Birthday” sign, so the photos can be used for sweet memories down the road. Create quirky props the kids will love by turning yellow paper plates into fun emojis to pose with.
Adults: To celebrate a grown-up birthday in style, include a photo booth for friends and family to say cheese. Especially on milestone birthdays—think 21, 40, 50 and 65—large number balloons make a perfect prop. Also include a mix of fun frames for guests to pose inside. These can be cut out from cardboard or wood in the shape of a polaroid picture or made from real frames. Try painting the frames in bright, bold colors that will pop in the photos.
Holiday Photo Booths
Christmas: Our Christmas photo booth backdrop ideas include using your favorite wrapping paper, as if it were wallpaper, to cover a simple piece of plywood or particle board. This backdrop is festive and affordable. Next, hang a mix of ornaments at varying heights to add sparkle to the backdrop. Prop ideas for a Christmas photo booth include Santa Hats, cut-out white beards, antler headbands and elf ears. Also have some boxes wrapped as presents for guests to pose with.
New Years: With everyone dressed to the nines in their sparkliest, most dazzling garb, they’re sure to want some photos to commemorate the festivities. Create a glitzy New Years photo booth to serve as the perfect backdrop for some fabulous photos. Use silver and gold decorations, such as confetti-filled balloons, streamers and garlands to decorate a backdrop. Maybe even include some confetti poppers and mini champagne bottles for action shots that really capture the celebratory mood.
