Creating playroom zones dedicated to age-specific needs and interests is a nice way to help kids easily navigate and fully utilize “their” space. By creating a loose playroom structure, kids of different ages can more easily enjoy a shared space at the same time.

Think zones for arts and crafts, storage, imaginary play and cozy reading. You can also set up areas based on your children and their interests. Create dedicated spots for a train table, Lego building, or even a mini trampoline. The sky’s the limit.

Modular shelving is a multi-aged playroom powerhouse, because it allows you to neatly store items at different heights. This is key for getting kids involved in choosing their own activities and—just as importantly—cleaning up their own activities.
