The Nerola
The idea for this drink comes from Peder Schweigert, a bartender in Minneapolis, who says it's an afternoon refresher, "perfect to come in and chug after mowing your lawn." It's such a versatile drink, though, that it also works as an aperitif cocktail, which is how I prefer to enjoy it. Five o'clock (or 4 on the weekends) with some salty potato chips and a handful of olives? Splendid. I love that it's made from relatively humble ingredients with one flourish: orange flower water, the preferred fragrance of the Princess of Nerola back in the day, hence the name.
